St. Ann mother charged for dumping baby in latrine, but St. Mary mother not yet charged for same act
A St. Ann woman is now presently before the St. Ann Parish court answering to a charge of cruelty to a child.
The brutal rape of a 93-year-old woman in Keith district, Brown's Town has stunned the island. The senior citizen is currently in hospital recovering from the ordeal. Reports are that the woman was at home about 3 on Thursday morning, when she was attacked and sexually assaulted. St Ann is a popular tourist destination and is known for its low crime rate. He, however, expressed concern about the high number of criminal activities in the parish in recent times. Detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), and from the Brown's Town police station are at the hospital with the woman.
Relatives of members of a religious group Qahal Yahweh Church whose St. James compound was raided erlier this week by police have called for a deeper forensic investigation of the group which allegedly isolates family members and demands titles and properties from its members.

Several firearms and a cache of ammunition have been seized across the country in the past 24 hours.
