Lifespan Company Limited, producers of Lifespan Spring Water, experienced a significant weather event as a result of the recent CAT 5 Hurricane Melissa that impacted our operations.
Our Portland plant sustained no major damages; however, with Jamaica Public Service (JPS) down and limited communications, the plant is currently operating at partial capacity. Our Mobay location is facing similar difficulties, while our Kingston location remains fully up but with constrained communications. Our dedicated staff members are still in the process of recovering and returning to full strength.
We extend our heartfelt support to everyone affected. We understand that many of our team members and their families are navigating the path to recovery. We stand with you in solidarity, our staff, our customers, stakeholders, and the wider Jamaican community, in support of resilience, and hope as we all navigate recovery.
What we can share today:
Portland plant: Operating at partial capacity due to power and communication constraints. No major structural damage reported.
Mobay location: Facing similar power and communications challenges; adjustments are in progress to maximize available capacity.
Kingston location: Fully operational, but communications remain limited. Business continuity measures are in effect to maintain service levels.
Staff: Ongoing recovery efforts; we are prioritizing their well-being and safety, and will provide updates as they become available.
